New Genetic Clues for Celiac Disease!
It has long been known that Celiac Disease is a gene-borne illness (in other words: it’s inherited). Thankfully, those genes don’t activate in everyone. But wouldn’t it be nice if doctors could let you know your vulnerability to this life-changing illness?
Researchers are well on their way to identifying exactly which genes play a role in causing Celiac Disease. They aren’t quite there yet, but their work is very promising: they now know which chromosome and which gene groupings to focus on.
What does this mean? Once all of the factors are identified, doctors will be able to pinpoint who exactly is susceptible to gluten intolerance. More importantly, they’ll be able to focus their treatment for Celiac Disease on exactly the areas that patients will need it the most. Exciting stuff!
Unfortunately, as I mentioned, this data is not ready for wide-scale utility yet. More tests are needed to validate the researchers’ findings, as well as to identify more of the genes involved. Regardless, this is very inspiring news, as any advancement in diagnosis and treatment is welcome!

This would be great for newborns as they would develop much healthier and live better lives knowing to avoid gluten from birth.

As I have said before, GLUTEN IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL… one of them anyway.
CLUES YOU PROBABLY HAVE CELIAC: Problems along the digestive tract. Blisters on the gums. Massive bloating, stomach pain and endless gas. Diarreah. Stomach, uterus, bowel spasms. Abnormal uterus bleeding.
Having these symptoms within 1 to 24 hours of eating: pizza, sandwich, pasta, pastries, beer, and anything with flour in it. Check out the ingredients of your food and drinks, flour is put in everything! Wheat, barley, rye, oats, white flour, and the many names for wheat.
Other illnesses as a result of Celiac: hypoglycemia, migraines, diabetes, disorientation, confusion, mood disorders, depression, obesity or super skinny, due to lack of nutrition absorption and a damaged digestive tract.

PS. The only prevention method is to avoid gluten– there is no medicine. Once you successfully cut gluten out of your diet completely (can only do this by eating a strict diet at home, there is ALWAYS flour when you go out to eat, no matter what they say, they cook on same grill, etc), all the symptoms vanish completely. AAAAh Relief!!
